Snowdrops making way for Daffodils
As the snowdrops which started to emerge in late December, started to make way for Daffodils around late January in 2023, the signs that we should start preparing for The Queen Bee Cabin first full season were all around us. We are still learning the concept of season in hospitality. When does it start, when does it end? While grappling with these and other questions about the cabin, it was time for our first guest of the year (should I have said of the season?) arrived.
A cabin fit for a queen and her consort

Victoria in The Queen Bee Cabin
Our first guest is a queen in many ways. Fairly, she chose to stay at “The Queen Bee Cabin” where we treat all our female guests like a queen. She also shares her first name with one of our recent queens; Victoria. She is also a queen among lifestyle bloggers. She blogs under the moniker The Girl On The Move. There was some apprehension about Victoria and Jack’s stay at the Queen Bee Cabin given the freezing weather, the unmowed grass around the cabin and a host of other things I tend to want to keep in tip top condition before the arrival of a guest.
Victoria and Jack saw beyond the superficial, and saw the queen bee for the gem of a cabin it was. Though it was very cold in February when they visited, we were blessed with a sunny day. The sun on a freezing cold day tends to make the day brighter, and takes the sting out of the cold.
It was a pleasure to read in the blog Victoria wrote about her stay at The Queen Bee Cabin that she enjoyed her stay. She also took stunning pictures of both the Queen Bee and around Much Birch. You can read more about Victoria’s stay at the queen in her blog which you can find here.
